Context of the Passage
King Hezekiah faced a dire situation. The Assyrian king, Sennacherib, had sent a letter mocking God and threatening Judah. Instead of panicking or turning to human strategies, Hezekiah went to the temple, spread the letter before the Lord, and prayed. His prayer was a humble plea for deliverance, grounded in faith and trust in God’s power and sovereignty.
